Weekend

Just back from my parents with Charlotte. We managed to fit the radiator to the TR6 now, and it successfully retains all the water loaded into it. So far so good. Also went over the parts required to refit the steering column, which should allow us some further progress in the coming weeks.

My dad has been clearing out the loft, which has resulted in the resurfacing of this little gem on the left. A portable Epson PX-4 computer from 1985. It was gifted to me from a friend many years ago, and it was kept as a curio. Something for the collection :-)

TR6

The TR6 radiator came back from the repair shop with a fixed core. A lovely £25 to fix it. Much better than the £150 for a brand new one. Now, I just need to find the right bushes for the steering column.

Life

One of the busiest weeks I’ve had in a long time. The advance base is almost up and running, but we’ve fighting with the new vlans and the voip system for the past few days. After 3 days of what seemed like getting nowhere, the system all magically sprung into life at 5.45pm - Just in time to go to the pub.
Met up with Marie to fix her computer on Tuesday, Neil to discuss a business plan on Wednesday, and Willie to tow his car this evening. Dave and I are heading to the pub tomorrow to celebrate our VOIP over VLAN victory, and Charlotte and I are working on the TR6 on Saturday and at Knockhill on Sunday. Willie and Janet took us out for a very nice meal at the 1901 this evening, and it was good to catch up. Hopefully we can do similar again :-)

Life

Been quite busy at work with the setup of the Advance Base for NES. Combine that with a heavy dose of the cold means that it’s been a rough week. I’ve spent most of my spare evenings in bed.

Just come back from Edinburgh with Charlotte, Gordon & Carolyne, after seeing A MidsummernightsTree. A very good performance. Quite different from what I expected, but still very good :-)

Weekend

Aaaah, this is the way it should be… lying in bed until 10am, getting up and messing about until 11.30am, going to the bank and shops, and then to the local park to feed the ducks. Now back in the flat and faffing around with computer bits.

I should be working on the TR6, but I’m in need of some parts that can’t be ordered until Monday. It’s tough :-)

Work

Work is going swimmingly. I’m settling in fine (in my opinion, anyway), getting to know the place and the people. It’s all good. I’ve been working with Dave to help set up the new NES facilities at Clifton House. The server was installed today, along with the UPS and ancillary kit. 30 desktops have been brought up by us as well, and they’ll be connected up and imaged next week sometime. It’s all good, and hectic :-)
