A week ago, Malcolm was around and I was cooing over his handheld scanner, a nice Alinco DJ-X3. Whilst messing about listening to the local ATC and the like, we happened upon 137.975MHz and wondered “wtf is that?”. A little bit of digging reveals that it’s one of the pager frequencies in Britain, and it can easily be decoded with POCSAG. And there was me thinking that pager transmissions were encrypted in some way, and possibly even secure. One day I’ll have fun with this… 🙂
