Sadly, at work we have a collection of machines that have UltraVNC installed on them. This is a hangover from the time when we didn’t have remote management policies and agents. The time has come to remove it from as many computers as possible, with minimal interaction from us and the end user. To remove UltraVNC, you would normally use the uninstaller file in the %programfiles%/ultraVNC directory, but it’s rather obtrusive and insists on user interaction.
However, since the uninstaller is a component of Inno Setup, it will aaccept the seemingly undocumented /silent switch. This removes the user interaction, but still pops up on the screen. In order to really make it silent, use the /verysilent option. This removes user interaction and any progress bars.
Next up, just wrap it into an MSI package and deploy in the background. If you are unable to obtain an installation editor such as AdminStudio, you can the free utility, Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard.
