It’s been a bsuy week or two again. Been out to Ikea a few times with James & JD, as well as round at their flat a few times for dinner. Had Gordon and Carolyne around for cookies, cakes and geekery. Michelle has been around a few times as well, and sometime in the past several weeks it was Michelles birthday, as well as Gordons. I really just don’t update this enough.
The house purchase is in full swing, we’ve signed the official paperwork for the mortgage, and the lawyer has sent off the formal acceptance of the offer. The keys will be handed over mid January, giving us 2 weeks to move in. Just a couple of days ago our landlord gave us a call to tell us that he’ll be selling the flat soon, and wanted to give us first chance at putting an offer in. Talk about good timing!
During all this, we’ve arranged flights over to Denmark on the 28th, and are having New Year at Noko with Charlottes old university friends. Noko has wonderful views over the city from the roof terrace, so the fi
reworks display will be fantastic. We’ll be coming back on the 4th, and Charlotte starts her new job on the 9th. One of the requirements for her job was her own transport, so just at the weekend she bought herself a shiny new turqouise Vauxhall Corsa 5 door. Falls nicely into the low tax bracket, is nice and nippy, and suits her perfectly. The car is to be picked up tomorrow, so she’ll have a few days to get used to it before using it in earnest 🙂
The Land Rover is being temperamental about working in the cold weather. For a while the battery wasn’t being charged properly, as the alternator decided to shed its forward mounting bolt. Consequently, all tension was lost in the fan belt, and the battery never charged. Having fixed that, I’m now dubious about the quality of the battery in it. I’ll test it over the next day or two.
Got all the Christmas shopping done as well. We actually did most of it in one day in November, but we’ve still had a few things to catch up on. I owe all this to Charlotte, and if it wasn’t for her, I’d be out slaughtering people in the streets all this week.
