Holiday!

Just back from a wonderfully relaxing holiday in Copenhagen. Went over with Charlotte, and stayed with her family. Met her brother, Christian, and his girlfriend, Johanna for the first time. Saw more lovely parts of Copenhagen, and it was good to meet up with Charlottes friends again. We got the time to see Oceans 12 with Stina, and got a rather large Buggi Burger beforehand. Dinner at the exclusive Blue Elephant as well. Plenty of photographs taken, now online here

Snow

We have snow! Lets hope it carries on. If it does, I think I’ll be retaxing the Land Rover for this month :-) The photo opposite was taken on my walk to work this morning, and it’s since started snowing again, and more heavily :-D

Cinema

Just back from watching The Aviator with Charlotte, Marsaili and Chris. A really lovely film about the life and times of Howard Hughes, the founder of the Hughes Aircraft Company, which after several changes of hands, is now Boeing Satellite Systems. It shows him as the film maker, aviator, and hypochondriac that he was, and most of what he went through in his life. The films he is depicted making were actually real films - The Outlaw, Hells Angels, Scarface, and they made several nice scenes of him flying his prototype aircraft such as the H-1 Racer, and the HK-1 Spruce Goose. A lovely film, well worth watching.
Only one thing has annoyed me now though, and that’s the fact that I was in Portland a while back, and had no idea that the Spruce Goose was only 40 miles away. Next time I’m over, I’ll definitely be making a visit.

Kittens

Yay! We have kittens! We went and collected them on Tuesday, and they seem to be doing well. Tabs and Tummy, about 12 weeks old, and ready to be independent from their mother. Photos to come, when I upload them from the camera.

In my continuing effort to get my Genius VideoCam Web V4 working with Linux, I’ve discovered that the internal sensor & bridge chip is the ZC0301Plus…

News Years eve

Was lovely. Had around 16 folks turn up, including a few neighbours who passed by briefly. Set off the fireworks, many people had lots of drinks, and it all wound up at around 0630. The flat is mostly clean again, and we’re steadily working our way through all the dishwashing that needs done :-p
